NIV Zondervan Study Bible

NIV Study Bible '15

The NIV Zondervan Study Bible is an awe-inspiring Study Bible that offers a new and refreshing perspective to the Study Bible market. It is a very thorough Study Bible full of commentaries, charts, maps, pictures, introduction to every book, introduction to Old and New Testament, as well as articles written by some of the most prominent scholars. All the pictures, charts, maps, and graphics are in color, and they provide the student with a better understanding of the subject under discussion. This Study Bible uses the NIV translation. You may like or dislike that translation, but you will love this Bible.

When I first opened the NIV Zondervan Study Bible I had the feeling that I have an incredible Study Bible in front of me. It is a heavy Bible (2912 pages and 3.7600 pounds), so this is not a Bible you want to take with you to church (it is up to you). When I opened it, I realized that it is a different study Bible compared to other study Bibles I have seen before. The fact that the charts, pictures, and maps are in color helps readers to feel connected to the biblical times and places. You will feel that Bible offers the best of a solid Study Bible along with the visual help from a Bible Dictionary.

You will not find troubles navigating through the NIV Zondervan Study Bible. This Bible will lead you to an incredible journey in your Bible study discipline. The table of contents is very accurate and clear enough to find what you are looking for.

Commentaries are abundant and based on sound doctrine and exegetical interpretation. Every book is preceded by an introduction written by scholars with years of reputation in biblical and theological studies. The introductions provide a general background of the book by addressing cultural, political, and spiritual issues pertaining to every Bible book. An outline is also included as a part of the introduction.

The aspect of this Bible is far from the aspect of expensive Bibles. The hardcover is necessary due to the length and weigh of this Bible and makes the Bible a solid Bible when you hold it in your hands. A softer material such as lather or hide would be less convenient and the Bible would feel more malleable and difficult to manipulate.

Typeface is acceptable regarding size and form considering we are in front of an extensive and heavy Bible. Margins have some room for one to write notes, though pages are very thin and delicate. I have not highlighted any portion yet, and I do not plant doing that due to the thinness of the pages.

I would highly recommend this Bible to pastors, Bible students, and Christians in general. The price is very competitive for the quality and the content of this new Study Bible. I am sure this Bible will become a very popular Bible among English speaking Christians around the world.
